Matthieu Giard

Chief Executive Officer, Americas hub

After initially working as a consultant, Matthieu Giard joined Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³öBenelux in 2004, working within the Industrial Merchant business line.

In 2007, he became Industrial Director for the Medical Gases business line in the United States, before being appointed Vice President of Operations at VitalAire Canada, Air Liquide’s healthcare-focused subsidiary, in 2009. He became the President and Chief Executive Officer of VitalAire Canada in 2011.

Between 2014 and 2018, he oversaw the Africa/Middle East/India hub. He was then appointed Vice President of the Industrial Merchant world business line as well as of the Procurement and the Efficiency Programs at Group level, and joined the Group's Executive Committee in 2019. In 2021, he also started overseeing the Hydrogen activities. 

In 2023, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Americas Hub.

Matthieu Giard holds an engineering degree from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon and a management degree from Harvard Business School.

Adam Peters

Chief Executive Officer, Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³öNorth America

Adam Peters was appointed CEO of Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³öNorth America in January 2022, after serving as head of Air Liquide’s global Electronics business since January 2018. 

As head of Air Liquide’s operations in North America, he oversees the Large Industries, Electronics, and Hydrogen Energy and Mobility businesses in North America and the Industrial Merchant and Healthcare businesses in Canada. 

In addition to his leadership activities at Air Liquide, Peters serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations. He is a board member of the U.S. National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and is on the Executive Committee of Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) America.  

Peters began his career with Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³öGroup in 1996, spending 10 years in the U.S. Electronics business holding positions in Engineering and Sales Management.  In 2006, he joined Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³öLarge Industries U.S. and was appointed Director of the Onsites business. He was then promoted to Vice President, Large Projects for the same affiliate where he managed the execution of a portfolio of major capital investments. In 2010, he was appointed Vice President, Operations Control, Americas, overseeing the operations control and strategic planning functions for Air Liquide’s businesses in North, Central and South America.  

Peters relocated to Montréal in 2012 where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³öCanada. He worked in this capacity prior to rejoining the Electronics team in January 2018. 

Peters holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in the United States. He now lives in the Houston area with his wife and their three children.

 

Marcelo Fioranello

Chief Executive Officer, Airgas

In July 2021, Marcelo Fioranelli was appointed CEO of Airgas, an Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³öcompany, to lead the $6B organization employing nearly 18,000 U.S employees, headquartered in Radnor, PA. He is an Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³öGroup Vice President and member of the Executive Committee.

Fioranelli joined Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³öin 2001. In his previous role as Senior Vice President for Air Liquide’s Americas hub based in Houston, he led activities related to the Industrial Merchant, Large Industries and Healthcare World Business Lines, as well as Procurement, Continuous Improvement, IT and Digital, and Capital Implementation programs.

Fioranelli led Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³öentities in China from 2013-2018, first as CEO & President of Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³ö(China) Holding Co., Ltd then as Vice-President – Greater China Cluster and Chairman & CEO of Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³ö(China) Holding Co., Ltd, based in Shanghai, China. Prior to that, he was General Manager of Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³öBrazil, with $400M sales and 1,200 associates spread around 45 subsidiaries in the country. In 2006, he was appointed Director of Operations and a member of the Executive Committee of Air ×ÔÅÄÁ÷³öBrazil.

Fioranelli began his industrial gas career in 1991. He holds a Master’s degree in Metallurgy Engineering from The University Center of Faculdade de Engenharia Industrial (FEI) and an MBA in Marketing from Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (ESPM), both based in São Paulo, Brazil. Marcelo also completed Management Executive Programs at INSEAD in France, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and London Business School in the United Kingdom.
